One Cowichan, a local citizens group, is seeking 2 people on contract to conduct public outreach as part of a non-partisan election push. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive difference in the Valley.
Applicants must be gregarious and enjoy reaching out to new people from all walks of life, be personable and presentable, and be willing to work flexible hours – evenings and weekends.
The contract for each person is for about 10 weeks, for 20 hours a week, and pays $15/hour. The work period is from the present until May 15.
The election push will ask voters to pledge to vote for local control of the Cowichan watershed and will seek thousands of signatures both online and in person.
Activities will include direct public outreach (eg. tabling at events, door knocking and making phone calls), volunteer coordination, and data management (entering signatures into a database).
Training and materials will be provided.
If interested, please send a brief cover letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org Applications from pairs will be actively considered. Only those interviewed will receive a reply.
