Everyone can agree that water is our most precious resource.
So why would the Provincial government approve a permit for South Island Aggrigates to dump contaminated soil into a quarry above the Shawnigan watershed for 50 years? This has been baffling the minds of everyone in Shawnigan Lake, the Cowichan Valley, BC and across Canada as news spreads.
Shawnigan Lake residents acknowledge that this permit is setting a precedent for all BC communities and has no benefit to the community with 100% of the profits going to corporations and the government.
